The rantings of a diseased mind, laid out for all the world to see....
What it is and what it may be

"Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster.   And when you look long into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you."
--Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche, Beyond Good and Evil

"Once more unto the abyss, dear friends, once more...."
--William Shakespeare, King Henry the Fourth, Act III, Scene I (and through my bad memory of the correct quote [breach, not abyss], but even badly quoted Shakespeare still sounds cool).

My first try at doing a brief intro rambled like a century-old country lane, so I'll try to keep this just a touch shorter.  Nothing much really to tell at the beginning, save that like many, many others I have achieved a sufficient level of self-importance to think that my opinions and the day-to-day of my life is worthy of being read by persons other than myself.  This seems all but intolerably egotistical to me, but since I do have aspirations of writing as a profession, I'll have to accept and deal.  And fact is I do have a way with a word or two and can turn a phrase with the best of them.  Should anyone deign to read my meanderings (maunderings?) on even an occasional basis, I hope I can keep things somewhat less than boring.  Please comment as you see fit.  I'll probably leave the comments on, but I'd like to think that a plus of doing a blog is always having the last word.  If I do turn 'em off, I'll keep the e-mail addy readily available and do like a digest response or something.  We'll see how it goes.

No overarching purpose just yet, save perhaps comic book reviews, the lack of reasonable ones here being the one of the major forces that moved me towards doing this.  I may veer into the realm of politics as well, if for no other reason than to vent my conservative spleen after having to put up with all the liberal bilge in this city.  I do not pretend to be an expert in either realm, but while mind is sound and wit is sharp, I think I can at least turn out a thoughtful word or two on current comic books, if not insightful political commentary.

Oh, and to any cute or above, 30-something women, just cut to the chase, send a pic and your address and we'll see about a hook-up!
